Space tourism has turned into a hot commodity over recent decades. WASHINGTON — Blue Origin expects to start flying people on its New Shepard suborbital vehicle “soon” and start selling tickets for commercial flights next year, a company executive said June 19. Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen has entered the prospective business through funding Seattle-based Spaceflight, which is reportedly booking payloads on flights.
Virgin said it sold about 650 tickets for its fully commercial suborbital flights, which are now booked until at least 2021. While we haven't seen the Starship fly yet -- SpaceX just got done with its test firings and short "hops" back in April -- we might not have to wait that long for its first commercial flight.
