The composition of Jupiter is similar to that of the Sun—mostly hydrogen and helium. At the “one bar” level, or the level of the atmosphere equivalent to the pressure on Earth, Saturn’s temperature is -139 degrees Celsius (-218 degrees Fahrenheit). The answer is that the mass of the atmosphere of Venus is very high compared to that of the Earth, by almost a factor of 100.
